The Structural Services Department at Georgia Southern University is responsible for repair, maintenance, and facility improvements that support the needs of the campus community. Our team provides services in carpentry, painting, signage, and general maintenance to ensure safe, functional, and welcoming facilities for students, faculty, and staff.

Carpentry & Maintenance

The Carpentry and Maintenance Shop delivers a wide range of construction and repair services to maintain and improve University facilities. Projects and responsibilities include:

• Constructing specialized shelving units
• Hanging drywall and repairing ceilings and floors
• Trim and finish carpentry
• Facilitating roof repairs
• Daily maintenance of housing complexes
• Office and classroom renovations
• Exterior wood repair and preservation
• Enhancements that improve fire and life safety

Signage Services

The Sign Shop provides custom signage solutions for campus spaces, including:

• Engraved name tags and desk plates
• Room identification and office door signage
• Exterior building signs
• Departmental and directional signage
• Occupant name displays
